lol, well its all gone now. Not that I had much they could get me for, most of it was CD's I already owned but ripped them onto my computer. And the rest were techno, I didnt think their really was any major techno lable's with the RIAA. Correct me if I'm wrong. Plus technically, by the word of the law, as long as I am only listening to the music for recreational purposes, and not re-selling it or making any profit off of the songs, then there is a lot smaller case, if any at all. But the RIAA has not been playing by the word of the law, they are claiming and assuming that everysingle person who is downloading music is reselling it for their own profits. Most of my stuff is techno, I would like to know where I can get a cd of remixes by individual dj's on a major record lable. I dont have any turn tables to buy the vinal, nor would I buy it just to listen to. As for buying cd's, i do buy techno cd's, I just bought 6 hard house cd's a few weeks ago, and after christmas I plan to buy a bunch more, becuase I support the techno in stores, but I also download the stuff you cant buy in stores.
But all of this crap of suing people becuase they are having declining cd sales is crap. I went to FYE, and the same hold true for Virgin, CD's are $20 a piece. If anyone has ever seen a supply and demand chart they would realize that if you supply too much, and charge too much, the demand will go down. People obviously want the music, but if your buying multiple cd's, it add up quickly. Lets say I found 4 great amazing cd's priced at $20. With Ohio tax that comes out to $85.40. Now say your working a job that pays roughly $8 with taxes taken out. To save up enough money you would have to work over 10 hours just to be able to buy only 4 cd's. If the cd's are only an hour long a piece, you would have to work 2.5 times longer then the time it would take to listen to them. The numbers just do not make me want to buy cd's.
Two other things, the RIAA is trying to give us the scam of "the artists are losing money" Well, they are, but the actually label is losing more money. The big wigs are keeping their high salaries, and scamming the ones who actually make the music. Artists get paid so little already from each CD, so when it doesnt sell, the label dosnt try to help them out, they want all of the profit, and they will give the artist just enough to convince them to make another cd. And secondly, the RIAA just plain pisses me off. Its about the music, music has been passed on for generations since the beggining of time. Music is public knowledge, the minute I hear a song it becomes my public knowledge. If they want to sue a 12 year old girl for downloading music on their first sweep through, they have already crossed the line. Who do they think they are, and what do you think they are accomplishing? I hardly believe the revenue that comes from the sued cliants goes back to the artsits, no! It probably goes to help off set the costs of the whole suing/ resaearching who's downloading operation. So everyone gets screwed except for the cut throat people at the top of the food chain. What would happen is all the little mice in the world took down the big hungry cat? What would happen?
I also dont like Bush either. Anyone who doesnt know the crap he's doing inside the US should check, let alone the crap he's doing over sea's. Crap, Crap, and more crap, the whole lot of them. You've all heard of the Amber bill crap. Anti-rave crap.
The only thing that will be constant, and will be true is us and techno. We all love techno. Techno is a part of us, its what brings us all together, one common bond. The undergorund will never die.
Oh and I think I might have found a way to "undelete" my music. But I'll get back to you guys on that one.
