Clayspace Gallery 831 is seeking artwork inspired by the origin of Halloween, All Hallow’s Eve, for an evening of celebration on Friday October 22.
Please join us at Clayspace Gallery 831 on Friday October 22 from 6-9pm, to celebrate one of the most magical times of the year, a time in the year when the spiritual and material worlds touch for a moment, and a greater potential exists for magical creation.
2000 years ago, in honor of the end of the Celtic harvest season, the souls of the dead were allowed to visit the homes they once lived in. On that night the Celts would leave their homes and gather in a field and build a bonfire to scare away the evil spirits that were roaming in the night. To honor the tradition of the annual All Hallow’s Eve bonfires, Clayspace Gallery 831 will light up the night with the firing of our Raku Kiln!
Images of 2D and 3D artwork to be considered for the All Hallow's Eve celebration should be e-mailed in .jpeg format to juan@clayspace831.com no later than October 16, 2010. Artists are encouraged to interpret how their work relates to the celebration of All Hallow’s Eve. There is no fee for submissions; however Clayspace Gallery 831 will assess a 30% commission on all sales.
