For anyone curious, I couldn't help but note that the first weekend of August each year (August 3-5 this year) happens to coincide with a high concentration of awesome events unmatched by any other weekend on the Akron-Canton area calendar. The biggest and perhaps best known of these is the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival in Canton with a wide range of events (e.g. rib burnoff, parade, tailgate party, fashion show, etc.) that actually stretch throughout the entire upcoming week and include something for everyone.
There's also the Twins Day Festival in Twinsburg, which as its name suggests is primarily about twins, but welcomes non-twins too.
Lastly, the PGA Bridgestone Invitational takes place during the same weekend at the Firestone Country Club in Akron.

As a special bonus, Canton's First Friday Art Walk also happens to coincide with this weekend. If you haven't attended a Canton First Friday before, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by all that Canton has to offer. It's definitely worth the trip and overnight stay, even at premium rate next weekend. But again, there's lots of additional things to see and do throughout the weekend. ;-)
