Has anyone driven to the airport during the dark hours and seen the new neon-blue plane overpasses that cars have to drive under on the way to the terminal? I wish I had a photo-- wow! Electric blue awesomeness and worth a thread. What a great gateway to our city. If you have a pic, please post it.

No, sounds cool though!

saw it yesterday. AWESOME. And distracting. And the construction makes driving suck balls.

Yep, i might have said this before, but I like it. It's all futuristic and shit.
Also the traffic does (still) suck. It will be about 20X better than before when they finish though.

The lights are fantastic, we saq them last week! I think it will feel like you are driving into a real airport when the construction is done.

Last time I checked, it is a real airport based in a real city.

Yeah, but just wait until they get real airplanes!

i've been in far worse airports than columbus.
the only thing i wish they would do is build up the A terminal (aka southwest) more. there is one bar, always packed and shitty service.
its kind of sad but the bartender actually recognizes me now and doesn't card me. :(
oh and the blue lights are awesome. the new traffic pattern kind of threw me off though.

Burbank, CA's airport is LEAGUES worse than Columbus. We have a nice airport, people!

Agreed. I did Skybus there a few times. Rugged.

Columbus has the best Airport in the world- Puts Gatwick, Dubai, Amsterdam Shiphol, Frankfurt,Charles Degaulle, Baghdad,Atlanta, MN-St paul, Cleveland, Newark, Houston, Sea-Tac,Orlando, and God knows how many more- to Shame- BECAUSE ITS HOME! I't great to see it getting a facelift though.
It has come a long ways from the day- I remember as a kid. The "back" entrance had a tunnel you drovethrough that was a big galvannized sewer pipe. There used to be a lake out there somewhere- I think on the commercial side- that my father would take me fishing- we would watch the planes take off. Post 911 I don't think any of that is accesable any longer. It has really come a long way since-

Columbus airport is pretty decent. Free WiFi and the best CupOJoe right outside security. I'd like the concourses to be connected inside security though. Also at least one airline club would be nice.

Gotta second this, the airport was truly embarrassing in the 70s and 80s.

Amen. That gets overlooked as a big bonus at our airport considering every other airport in the country wants to charge you out the ass for using their internets.

Ain't that the truth! ATL wanted about 10 bucks for 30 minutes and the same with DTW!!!

Columbus and Akron-Canton are my favorite in Ohio - so relaxed. Being routed through CVG makes me want to gouge out my eyeballs. Las Vegas' airport is eerily non-glitzy - shitty, I would even say. And none is worse than Charles de Gaulle. I don't think they even heat that bitch in the winter.

am i the only one who dislikes these blue lights? they're too 1991. why are there so many neon lights in columbus?

I like neon lights, I wish we had more.
