seriously, this was one of the best and most fun shows I have ever been a part of. If you don't come you are DEFFINATELY missing out.
Plus Mike Reed is screening Snakes on a Plane in his studio.
At least come for that.(no additional charge)

we were joking around about the zombie walk this evening while hanging art for this event...
i appreciate the spirit in which ben posted this, but it attracted 0 comments while the zombie hoedown has attracted 21 so far. curious.
you can't believe the amount of work, dedication, and love of art that goes into an event like this. yet people staggering around in goodale park attracts more lively discussion. interesting, no?
why do you think that is? i would certainly like for art in this city to be as fun, approachable and worthy of banter as a zombie walk.

To be fair, there are multiple threads about Agora already open where people have talked a bit, as well as it being mentioned in the thread about the Grandview Gallery Hop(s).
And the zombiewalk thread got sidetracked into disucssions about meeting up for food pretty quickly, so maybe only 1/3rd of those 21 posts were about zombies. ;)
That being said, I'm pumped to be checking out Agora! Will be there!
:D
not complaining, so you know... i'm also a bit pumped about the zombie bit as well.
cheers,
mike
i also am very pumped about the agora show this weekend. I can't wait to see what kind of artwork I get hung next to.
bump BUMP
All I can say is WOW. What a great event!
Anne & KatieB & I decided to go hit the Grandview gallery hop earlier on, and then went over to Agora afterwards. I think there were more people at Agora in one building than there were on the streets in Grandview!
Anyway, there was a great mix of artists, styles, and presentations. I doubt anyone would have trouble here finding at least something they liked with all the variety.
Hope to see more events like this in the near future.
Also, was nice to meet Mike Reed, Coreroc, and Dru! And good bumping into Brandon, Lori, and everyone else we saw thre. :D If anyone thought twice about coming to this, be sure to mark the next one on your calendar whenever it's announced! You won't want to miss it!
Good to meet you to walker, and brandonphoto.
Personally, I'm committed to people having a place to show and see art in Columbus and having that be a vital part of how the city evolves. Junctionview has events off and on- nothing of the magnitude of Agora, but every show need not be that big.
I'm fortunate to be involved with The Couchfire Collective- http://www.thecouchfire.org - hardworking, smart, and great artists.
Somehow I ended up with Snakes on a Plane in Italian and 6 hours of people walking into my studio with puzzlement. Look for that video at the next Agora... :D
this was awesome. a lot of cool, interesting stuff, my favorite being adam brouillette:
