AGORA III: Call for Artists, Performers, and Musicians
Grandview Heights, Ohio - The Couchfire Collective and Junctionview Studios are proud to announce Agora III, an unforgettable evening of art, music, and community.
Visual artists, performing artists, musicians, and volunteers are invited to register to participate in Agora III using our online form, which is located at http://www.AgoraColumbus.com. Registration opens on Saturday, September 1, 2007 and closes on Saturday, September 29, 2007. Each visual artist who registers to participate in Agora will have at least one work selected for inclusion in the show. Performance and music schedules will be determined by the Couchfire Collective after reviewing all applicants.
Agora is an immersive event that brings artists and art patrons together to celebrate Central OhioÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s diverse and talented creative community. Agora guests have the opportunity to view and purchase hundreds of works of art, wander through fifty working artistsÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ studios, experience performance acts, enjoy a variety of musical guests, and participate in seasonal activities. The event is designed to be enjoyable for guests of all ages. Everyone is invited to be a part of the experience.
The public opening of Agora III will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2007, at 5:00 p.m. An exclusive previewevent will be held on the evening of Friday, October 12, 2007. Both the public opening and preview event are located at Junctionview Studios, 889 Williams Avenue in Grandview Heights, Ohio.

It was mighty hot last time. I'm looking forward to some fall weather and the outdoor stage.
Seriously- this is going to be awesome.
Would it be out of line, artbomb9313, to mention that in the last 3 days we have had 7 bands and 57 visual artist sign up? I hope we exceed 400 artists of all varieties registering this time. That would be pretty amazing. We do need more video artists...

I am stoked as the event gets closer! I also highly suggest that anyone that does art or performs music or even you video people out there need to apply if you feel you haven't reached a large enough audience yet.

I was just asking someone about this today. Do you think it would be possible to set up a small satellite store there for the night? Even if it meant finding a really good friend to "sponsor" us and let us share space. Or would retail be looked down on?

Retail is something that we considered at some point in the planning.
Though it isn't looked down upon.. I think it was more of a logistical issue... We have so much to deal with in preparation... creating a store was a difficult issue to deal with.
One of our group though... thought it might be nice to create a separate event for retail....

I believe you know the people running it. But it will be promoted at the Agora event as an opportunity for retail artisans and buyers alike.

Yes, I am aware of Tiny Canary. We thought about doing it with Maxine, Dear (which is our line, not sure if you are familiar or not) but with Holiday coming up we really have to hold stock for our wholesalers. I think Agora is a great event, and basically a concentration of all of the people in Columbus that we are trying to tell we exist. If you could find a way for us to be included we would be super grateful. Not a full store of course, just a few key pieces that highlight what we do.

I think that sponsoring Agora might be a good option and could get you some advertising throughout the event.

We do have sponsorship opportunities.... which don't necessarily need to be monetary... but could potentially get you recognition for your store by way of ads in our programs (we are printing programs) or on our sponsor wall. We will also have goody bags that need things in them.....

We'd love to help... and we know your demographic well... as it is ours I believe.
Hopefully we can work out a way to make your business known.
