The TigerTree x Tom's Shoes booth was a bunch of fun. I think that I could sit for a day and take custom shoe orders. So long as you don't request a very long web address and a Phrase that needs to go along the seam of a size 7 womens shoe. It is nice to see the end result of the Ohio shoes and I will try to send out the final pictue of my customs that Groovy doodle shot. Thanks Josh!!!!!
The Turnout and overall vibe was great. I had a great response in my stuido and sold a good bit of work. There did seem to be hesitation on works over say 200 bucks but in the end selling close to 20 pieces small to medium was a great bonus to the weekend. So many studios looks top notch and the building renovations helped with a cleaner look around the galleries.
I was overly impressed with the intallation that Brian Reaume did in studio 107. In the middle of a recession when everyone is trying to make a buck Brian devoted his whole studio to making a point. Although some closed minded folks may have seen a swastika and simply moved on. Those that stopped and interacted with the installation and dialog are the types of people that I love to see make it to JV events. I love and respect all of the Gay artist that call the studio home and feel proud to be part of such an open environment where people of all artistic/personal backgrounds and mediums can co-exist and take it to the next level in harmony.
I don't even know where to start witht he fire show. I only wish that the wind and rain would have not been such an issue. The wind makes the fire far more dangerous and in my case made the aerosol torches almost impossible. The rain delay on the main stage caused the performance to be compromised alittle on time. Either way there are some epic pictures I have already seen and can't wait for the rest.
Thanks to Robert Troutman
Thanks to all that participated and attended the Agora as we all play a role in the fun and sucess level.
