I've been getting a lot of great feedback (mostly in the form of private emails) about my postings of homes for sale in the King Lincoln / Bronzeville neighborhood where Anne and I just purchased our first home. Well, I've found eight more in addition to the others (here, here, and here) still for sale. There's a variety of styles, sizes, and price points available to fit just about anyone's taste.
So... who wants to be our neighbor?

I kinda like the last one.... I know it has a "suburban" feel to it. But the yard looks nice. It has a garage, central air, and 3 full baths! Plus I think it has the best location of the bunch.

That "mansion" on Miami is biiiiiiig. My dog could have his own wing.
I like the refurbed one on 21st...and it comes with a plasma tv! Yay!

I really wish I could sell my house in Cleveland so I could buy one of these up on the CHEAP! That last one is a steal and the neighborhood seems to be the best by FAR.

I don't know much about the neighborhood of the last house, but squinting at the houses around it, it looks a little suburban subdevelopment-y looking which really makes my insides have an icky reaction. I hate that subdevelopment look/feel.

If you look at it in google maps with the "satelite" feature on you will see its a small corner of greenspace across the street from a park. I drove around that neighborhood a few weeks ago and there is nothing subdevelopment-y about it. I might have missed that particular corner, but I don't think 4 or 5 houses constitutes a subdevelopment.

Ahhh, I didn't play the google map. Good call. I was just squinting which is of course the least effective investigational method. What is the building with the big parking lot by the park? School?

I have to say I like the look (and size) of the Miami mansion, though I wish the sheltering trees were just a hair larger and farther away from the house, and I just have to wonder what's *wrong* with the place if it's going for that little per square foot, even as a short sale.

What is the safety like in the neighborhood - honestly. My wife and I are looking for houses currently and drove through the area on Sunday. I know safety means different things to different people. Would it be safe for my wife to walk our (small, non-scary) dog at night? I'm all for pioneering and refurbishing old neighborhoods, I just want to be sure I don't have to worry too much about crime. We're currently in German Village, so accustomed to random car break-ins (hasn't happened to us yet) and the occassional bar fight spillover from the Brewery District. We both grew up in the country and didn't lock the doors...

I wouldn't recommend your wife walk your dog alone at night in any downtown neighborhood.
