
Shaping Columbus: Developer John Galbreath's work evident in city skyline

John Galbreath was the quintessential entrepreneur, and over the years his never-say-never attitude propelled him to success in real estate. It also served him well in the sporting world where he produced Kentucky Derby racehorse winners, bred mares belonging to the queen of England at his Darby Dan Farm just west of the city, and owned the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team which won its last World Series, in 1979, under his tutelage.
