The 50th Anniversary German Village Haus und Garten Tour, Celebrating 50 Years of Inspired Living, will take place on Sunday, June 28 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“The German Village Haus und Garten Tour has long been one of the most celebrated home tours in the Midwest – drawing visitors from all over the United States to tour homes and gardens in one of America’s pre-eminent historic areas,†said Norman Hall, event chair. “The fact that this is the 50th anniversary of the Tour underscores the important role German Village plays not only in Columbus, but the region.â€Â
The 50th Tour will feature 9 homes and four gardens that promise to appeal to all tastes and lifestyles. Following are the homes that will be featured:
• 792 S. Fifth Street, Rich and Janet Dawson;
• 255 E. Beck Street, Tim Straker and Mike Ebright;
• 313 E. Jackson, Michael McKibben and Kevin McGuire;
• 770 S. Lazelle Street, Tom and Nancy Gross;
• 803 S. Fifth Street, Gail Evans;
• 132 Reinhard Ave., Sharon Alvarez;
• 380 Jackson, Brian Santin and Crystal Seamon;
• 192 E. Beck Street, Eleanor Alvarez; and

The charming brick streets, quaint homes, unusual gardens and welcoming businesses continually set German Village and its Haus Und Garten Tour apart from other area events. Experience Columbus awarded the Haus und Garten Tour one of its four EXPY Awards during their Annual Meeting in 2007. In 2006, the Tour was recognized by the American Bus Association (ABA) as one of only two events in Ohio named to its prestigious “100 Best Events†list. And, most recently German Village became the first neighborhood recognized by the White House as a “Preserve America Community.†Preserve America is a White House initiative that encourages and supports community efforts to preserve and enjoy cultural and natural heritage.
