The 4th Street Community Gardening Group is gearing up for the 2011 growing season! The group is open to anyone interested in helping to maintain and improve the Glen Echo neighborhood or the University District in general. We plant and maintain flower gardens on the 4th Street Boulevard and meet on the first Sunday of each month at 11:00am from April through October on the boulevard (between Hudson Avenue and Arcadia Avenue). Our first meeting this season will be on Sunday, April 3rd at 11:00am. In case of inclement weather, we will reschedule for the following week. Join our Facebook group to receive updates!
If you are interested in participating in a community garden that produces food, the garden at the corner of 4th and Hudson near the green warehouse is known as "Animal's Garden" and is accepting new members. The garden is communal, organic and grows veggies, fruit and flowers. Get updates or contact this group on their Facebook page.
