Saturday, May 12 – from 8:30am to 3:30pm
The German Village Garden Club will be holding the annual GartenMarkt on Saturday, May 12, just after Jazz and Juleps the night before.
GartenMarkt is from 8:30am to 3:30pm at the German Village Meeting Haus, 588 S. Third St. This year, you can only buy red geraniums via pre-order. That’s right – only specialty plants will be sold at GartenMarkt! We will feature exotic succulents, connoisseur perennials and annuals, vibrant coleus, herbs, tropical blooming plants, hostas from supersized to miniature, and lush hanging baskets and planters. In addition, GartenMarkt will have unique decorative items for your garden including stone carvings, iron plant stands, metal trellises, and bird houses. You’ll also be able to find beautiful hand-crafted jewelry, along with special gift items. Enjoy shopping for unique plants and garden décor with your friends and neighbors.
GartenMarkt provides the financial support for the residents and tourists to see 23 large floral flower boxes in beautiful bloom throughout the year, to attend four free concerts in Frank Fetch Park, and to attend quality educational programs throughout the winter months. Whether you are a Garten Club member or supporter, purchasing your plants and outdoor entertainment accessories from the GartenMarkt is critical to our financing many programs throughout the year.
Proceeds from this event benefit the care and maintenance of the Third Street Flower Planters and the care and maintenance of our
community jewel, Frank Fetch Park. The German Village Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our dedicated corps of gardeners plant and maintain year round the 35 planters that parallel Third Street. Our volunteers also plan and produce the annual ‘Summer Concert Series’ and ‘Movie Nights’ at Frank Fetch Park.
Ample parking is available. The event takes place RAIN OR SHINE.
Pre-order forms are available at our website http://www.germanvillagegartenclub.com and must be received by April 20, 2012
