Press Release:
3rd Annual Old Worthington Quarter Beer Festival Brings Central Ohio New Octoberfest
The Old Worthington Quarter is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Old Worthington Quarter Beer Festival will be held on Saturday, September 24th, from 11am to 5pm. This year, the Quarter will bring you Central Ohio’s premier Octoberfest on top of the Worthington Chamber of Commerce Market Day event held every year in Old Worthington. The beer festival will be a joint effort by House Wine and Rivage Atlantique with proceeds benefiting the Worthington Food Bank. The Old Worthington Quarter, at High Street and New England Avenue, is also home to The Candle Lab, Elli Nail Spa, Little Tree Studios, and Graeter’s Ice Cream.
“We’re thrilled to take our beer festival to the next level this year with Rivage on what’s already a festive day in our community with Market Day,” said Donnie Austin, owner of House Wine, who is organizing the event for the third year, with support from Bill Cosgrove and Brett Holland, owners of Rivage Atlantique. “We’re even more pleased to partner with Worthington Food Bank to show our support of organizations that are making a positive difference for families in our community. Our Octoberfest will be right in the middle of our downtown and Market Day to give more people an opportunity to join us and support Worthington Food Bank while enjoying some amazing American craft beers.”
Rivage Atlantique is an upscale casual restaurant and the newest addition to downtown Worthington. Rivage will also offer food fare to pair with the beers for those attending. “We are excited for the opportunity to team with House Wine and showcase craft beers and introduce our new full-service seafood restaurant,” said Bill Cosgrove.
The popular beer festival has typically been held during the summer in the Old Worthington Quarter parking lot, but due to warm temperatures during that time of year, the decision was made to push it back to fall in hopes of cooler weather and to offer Columbus’s premier Octoberfest event. The beer selection will be vast, offering numerous fall seasonal beers from American craft breweries in addition to a few other styles from the same breweries.
Entry to the Old Worthington Quarter Beer Festival will only cost $5 for admission and one beer sample with proceeds going to Worthington Food Bank. Additional sample tickets will be available at an additional cost.
