The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission invites you to learn more about the draft Big Walnut/Alum Creek Balanced Growth Plan. Community representatives and stakeholders in the watershed worked together in this voluntary effort to address the interrelated issues of water quality and economic competitiveness. The resulting plan will include a toolbox containing information and resources for communities to consider as they keep an eye toward enhancing the economic and environmental health of the watershed. Upon approval from local jurisdictions in the watershed, MORPC will submit the plan for state endorsement, which unlocks financial incentives for communities choosing to implement projects.
The public can provide input on the draft Balanced Growth Plan. Submit comments during the 30-day public review period March 14-April 13, 2012. The draft plan will be available at libraries in the watershed and at balancedgrowthplanning.morpc.org/ beginning March 14. Click here or on the “Big Walnut” tab to access the plan and view the planning area, which includes jurisdictions in Delaware, Franklin, Licking, and Morrow counties.
Comments can be emailed to Erin Grushon at egrushon@morpc.org or mailed to MORPC, 111 Liberty St., Suite 100, Columbus, OH 43215.
RSVP for the public meeting by contacting Brandi Whetstone at bwhetstone@morpc.org or 614-233-4174.
