On Friday, 3/26, 9:00 - 1200, the Friends of the Scioto River invites you to join us to remove invasive honeysuckle in Dublin's Scioto Park (with the Leatherlips sculpture). The City of Dublin will provide a chipper crew. FOSR will provide gloves and drinking water.
Honeysuckle is a non-native shrub. It is very aggressive, capable of choking out native plants. It is not poisonous and it does not have thorns.
This removal event will expose twin springs that are currently hidden in the brush. It will also open the way for re-planting of native species later this year.
Please reply to this thread if you can join us for this project. Thanks!
