What's the size difference between the tiny place inside the loop (today's prices) and a similar unit at The Annex. Sorry, but I have a hard time believing that cost per square foot for a similar type of rental in the core of Downtown Columbus is more expensive than Chicago.
I never said anything about comparability... but if we're considering that, you're right.
Their place was the same size as my current place, which is 500 square feet and downtown (in Columbus). They paid $1,300/month (in the loop) and I pay $600/month.
So obviously, I'm not comparing apples to apples.
But my other brother has heard of 500 square foot, $500/month skyscrapers in Chicago. His friend used to live in one... In that determination, Chicago can be as expensive as Columbus.
Had we that same style of small apartment/high-density sky-scraper buildings in Columbus, they would most likely be cheaper than Chicago, yes, but we don't have any.
