1988 Custom Ford Bronco. color red, inline 6 cylinder 4.9L engine. Manual hubs, manual ZF 5speed Transmission, manual transfer case (2w/4hi/4low), gets low oil pressure after a while driving (starts at around 60, gets to about 10 at idle after oil warms), there's a problem with the front 4WD, drives fine in 2WD. Heater core is out because it was leaking over the winter. Newer tires on the front. The truck is originally from OK, I picked it up a couple of years ago near Pittsburgh. I also have some spare parts and a extra parts engine if you want that as well. I also have the original books and manuals that came with the tuck when it was first sold in 1988 and a book of all the receipts of parts bought. I've kept it as a spare truck for a while but I haven't been driving it much so I want it gone instead of having to renew the tags and insurance on it anymore, that is why I listed it low for non-negotiable quick sale. It runs and drives and has never failed too start for me. I have the title, the title is a rebuilt title because of some hail dents in the roof. Sale for cash only. email with questions. I listed the bottom price for it and people are still offering less! the price is $500. fyi, if I don't get 500 I'd rather take it to a junkyard or goodwill.

If you want $500 you should start at $800. I really had some crazies the last time I sold a major item on criagslist. Someone wanted to trade car parts and cats (despite the cash only notice). Somehow they thought 3 strays would sweeten the deal.

I thought about listing it for more and taking less, but I don't want to deal with the negotiation. I just want it gone because we are thinking of selling the house and moving to italian village and I'm not taking the toys. I'll list the bike in a few days too. I could get more for this stuff in scrap than I'm asking for running vehicles.

I kind of don't care if I sell it, so I don't mind telling people no. it's listed as

if somone doesn't want to buy a complete running truck for $500, then they can see what other options are out there. I'm not quibbling over the price, I don't want the hassel when I know I don't have to.

I should add that the car parts were for different random vehicles and I wasn't selling a car.

Stick to your guns and good luck on your sale. You are selling a car at what it would cost to rent one for less then a week.

I actually think that someone will buy it for the transmission and spare parts alone to put in their own truck. I took a while when looking for a bronco, I specifically wanted that tranny because it is built for heavy duty work and has PTO ports on it. the straight 6 engine has gear driven cams instead of a belt so the timing stays truer longer and the straight 6 has tons of torque. Most of the other ford truck trannys are mazda trannys. and the transfer case is a BW1356. I know what I have and I'm not about to mess around. the thing about the truck being from PA is that PA has inspections so anything the truck needed it got, like a new exhaust, no cracked widows, etc, plus I've kep it in my garage the entire time I've had it. it's not a new truck, but I don't know of anything better for $500 if you are good with a wrench.

Dude it's definitely worth more then that if it's drivable and the floor is not rusted out. Besides those cars are beasts and can roll over and destroy any plastic piece of shit they produce today. Those cars are what makes driving fun, and the look on peoples faces when you roll up next to them in one it's pure intimidation >:).

i completely agree that today's cars are piles of plastic shit and that they don't make em like the broncos, etc of yore...however, that doesn't make the broncos etc worth any more. it just means the pieces of shit of today will be worth even less comparatively when they become the same age.

sherminator, do you work at a scrap yard to confirm that? but i would pay $500 in this case only b/c of the OJ factor. like you said, it would be for the look on people's faces. guilty but found innocent. god bless america, eh?

You might want to stick to talking about something you know anything about. It's worth350-400 in scrap alone, it weighs over 3500 lbs, the tranny parted out alone would fetch double your estimate on the entire vehicle. I could get 75 for the extra engine alone. The two tires on it alone are 300. If you don't want it don't buy it I won't be crying. Fwiw, Buyer is coming by tomorrow for asking price, and that is the first responder. If that falls through I still won't be crying, I've already turned down 2 offers for 400 because I'm not negotiating, I'll just make my way down the list of responses already received.
Anyway, Not losing sleep over getting rid of it, I just want it gone so I don't have to move it with me since the place I move to probably won't have a garage.
I've also never seen any running daily driver vehicles for 75 cept for bicycles. If you have, more power to you.

Scrap Steel was running around 240 bucks a ton a few weeks ago. If you separate out all the aluminum and other metals you can make even more. super clean #1 copper can fetch as much as 3 dollars a pound. I do not work for a scrap yard but I do scrap often.

Not touchy, I couldn't tell if you were serious or not. just letting you know the value since it seemed you didn't know what the value was. I don't need the money, that's why I listed it so low and also why I've declined lowball offers.(I'd rather donate it) If I wanted top dollar I'd list it on the bronco forums or ford-truck forum.
I also didn't want to part out out since I've done that with motorcycles and it is time consuming at best. Iwould like someone to use it instead of dismantling it. I will donate it to goodwill if it doesn't sell and get the donation benefit. I'd give out to a family member, but most of mine fortunately don't need it and the ones that do won't be able to drive it, it's not an automatic and is a truck,you have to drive it our it will drive you. I love it, but it has to sadly go.

A '78 would be clutch, but even the second full size revisions are pretty damn hot.
Granted, my ideal American is a '75 Cherokee Chief 401. /drool
