Apparently they allowed people to vote on keeping the old format or switching to the new one. Time to take it off the pre-sets in the car.

106.7 semi-switched from alterna-pop to more of a hard rock station a little over a year ago but kept the "Radio 1067" name. On Monday, they completely changed the format to GenX Radio 106.7.

Well, you just clinched it, there's no way I'll listen to WCRS since you did that.
Oh, also I can pick it up about a three block radius from Upper Arlington and not much more.
Speaking of metatags, how annoying is it that 96.3 does tags yet 90% of the time it just says FRED RICART 0% DOWN CARS CARS BLEH BLOO FUCK... and only once every 10 minutes does it flash for a picosecond SONG TITLE-ARTIST _ OH SHIT FRED FOUND OUT WE USED THE TAGS FOR THEIR ORIGINAL USE INSTEAD OF ADVERTISING HERE HE COMES ARRRGH NOOOOOOOO *static*

So far, i hate the new 106.7. I don't get why radio stations try to play every hit song from the last 50 years. If I want classic rock, I want classic rock. If I want indie, I want indie. But I almost never want to listen to an 80s metal hair band, followed by Alicia Keys, followed by some awful Will Smith rap song. You might be in the minority. This format started in Louisville and within a year they were the #2 radio station in the city.

although I am really glad to have the idiocy of "Rover's Morning Glory" off the radio band in Columbus, replacing it with C&C Music Factory made me break my stereo's FM option and listen to NPR on the AM dial (or cds/mp3s) only.
no one was ever supposed to play C&C Music Factory on the radio ever again... what's next, Wilson Phillips?

I'm part of that minority too. I prefer to stay at least roughly within a genre when listening to the radio waves.
