I question my manhood when I read your for sale posts.

Is this strong enough to hold the 50 horsepower motor from my 74 Super Beetle?

Hugh, I would assume so!
I've been clearing out the garage and basement. Sold my kz750 and got rid of a ton of parts that I gave away with it. truck and engine are gone, now this is one of the last items to go. Garage is pretty empty now cept for the kz400(which MIGHT eventually get listed), a grill, and a lawnmower. We have been thinking of moving for a while and possibly to an apartment so I won't have space for anything. If I do happen to have space I'll probably fill it again, but with what I don't know. I usually stumble across a hobby, get very involved in it, learn a lot, and then move on to another. I miss driving the Bronco though. the things I learned along the way usually come in handy later down the road in some form or another. Once Life passed I've kinda been in this "cleaning house" mode of getting rid of the old and starting fresh. Lightening the load. We've also contemplated moving out of state, but we'll have to wait and see with that.
If someone is interested in the lift or stand you can always make an offer, but the prices listed are very fair and standard rates.

It makes me sad that you sold your bike. I totally understand the desire to "lighten the load" though.
Once you get into that apartment and have no space for anything, you just might miss that garage :)

Well, I am sad about the bike, but I'm going for something lower maintenance/newer and optimistically looking at the next "best thing". right now I've got my eye on the 2011 Aprilia shiver 750,
although Ducs always keep calling.. My old apt on Summit I used to have a kz550 and the kz750. I kept one on the porch and one in the living room. I had a huge ramp I used to get them up the stairs to the porch. As long as I have my tools I will be ok, though it is easier to wrench in a garage with lighting than on the side of the street after dark! Eventually we will get something with a garage I'm sure. nothing is certain at this point
