That's a very interesting list...in the spring.
OSU football has done more for the city of Columbus and the economy of Central Ohio than anything else besides, maybe, state government. And state government is boring.

I think OSU education could be ahead of OSU football. But whatever.
If you don't think the two are at least somewhat interchangeable, I'd have to disagree. I'd say the notoriety and revenue of the football team for the past many decades has certainly contributed to the size and stature of the university as a whole.

If by "pandering" you mean writing a story that is of interest to a wide majority of residents who would then want to read the paper...yeah, I suppose the Alive did that.
Of course, I'd love to know what paper you read that public interest isn't a factor in story determination...
