I like the idea of keeping a beehive. Who ever planted the flowers and bushes around my house did a fantastic job. I love watching the bees collect pollen in the spring and summer.
No, but Manatee's thread about cooking freshly foraged garlic mustard comes to mind.

yeah, thought of that too.
While the comment section shows me that Milwaukee is about on par with Columbus for fools, that was a really good article. I wish more writers did something beyond cut-n-paste for a trends article. Nearly every item had specific local references. That is the non-lazy way to do these pieces.
It made my morning to see this. Thanks for posting it!

Sadly, I think the decline in the bumblebee population this summer can be directly attributed to my dog, who ate them.
I love the idea of bee keeping, but I'm afraid I'd just be providing dog snacks & entertainment.
Dang. Your dog is pretty hardcore.
I have considered putting a beehive in my backyard for the past few years. I plan on digging up a sizable garden next year and expanding past my tomato and herb garden so this might be the year to add bees too since that is what all the cool kids will be doing :)
My poor husband will have to be the beekeeper since I am mildly allergic.
