"Ocean Ghosts will be performing live on Saturday October 25th 2008 at Skully's Music Diner (Columbus, OH) in support of their new release "American Pride". The 11 track album is available NOW via FREE electronic download on the website: http://www.OCEANGHOSTS.com
"American Pride" is a spastic joyride through foreign nightmares and American dreams. The record offers a diverse range of stolen music samples spanning such genres as punk rock (Iggy Pop, Dead Kennedys), soul rock (Free, Cameo, War, Average White Band), and soft rock (Player, Journey). The cunning lyrics revolve around the subjects of murdering enemies, loving life, the vacuousness of blogging, alcoholism, and enemy murder. "American Pride" is a poignant portrait of a country swinging with sultans while in dire straights.
The bill for the 10/25 show begins at 10 p.m. with the Cleveland multi-media outfit, Infinite Number of Sounds. Next, Brian Brown (Lab Rats) will perform a special set of funk infused grooves featuring his patented rhyme styles and guitar wizardry. Then, the Lollipop Factory will showcase their must-see brain metal, replete with a freakishly-amazing stage show to match their heroic, musical talents. Finally, Ocean Ghosts will perform a powerful set of mega hits and aerobic performance art featuring Brent from INS on LIVE VIDEO for the entire set! Ocean Ghosts gets interviewed by Pat Radio tonight (www.patradio.org) to discuss the new Ocean Ghosts' album, the album release show this Saturday, J's recent solo record (jampon.com) and his financial crisis 1/2 marathon that he is running today. It features 2-songs of our new album (American Pride), 2 songs off J Rhodes' new solo album (Jampon), as well as local tracks by Infinite Number of Sounds, Lollipop Factory, Hotel Eden, Elephant Bones, Ruckus Roboticus, Black Cat Revival, ECC, Billy Two Shoes and other of our friends and faves. Thanks to everyone who hustled to get me their tracks in time for the show. We talk about a variety of things during the set, and probably meander a bit more than we should.
