The show notes for Recession Bar 2 will probably be about as extensive as we get with time stamps for each segment and lists with links where appropriate. It’ll never be more than a visual aid for those listening, though, as a full transcript just isn’t practical right now.

In a perfect world, the notes would look like this.

In a more perfect world, the Foodcast would stream over the air; harnessing the electromagnetic spectrum and delivering the show to a listening device in a car or a place of work without the need of a computer or MP3 player.

I know this isn't really the product you're delivering, but I'd find a text-based condensed version of the podcast useful (more than just the description you already provide.) I don't normally find the time to listen to podcasts, but I'm sure you have a ton of content I'd find interesting.

1. More often than not. I've skipped an episode here and there when there's a subject that doesn't really interest me.
2. A nice mix of all of the above, but my favorites are people oriented interviews, i.e. "the story behind subject x", events, and also when you guys go driving around (i.e. like the 3 shop ice cream crawl)
3. Haven't actively disliked any episodes.
4. Way too damn long.
5. I usually listen to it directly from the webpage while having other windows open working on other stuff.
6. Half hour is a good time limit.
7. Not really.
8. Several smaller segments - it would make me more likely to listen to all of the podcasts rather than just selective ones.
9. You guys are doing great. Keep up the good work!

It's generally quite well-paced. I've always thought the best parts are the questions -- you guys have a real talent for knowing which questions to ask. They're well-informed, and they elicit detailed responses from the people you're talking with.

1. I listen on a pretty regular basis. ;) Generally, it's a topical thing for me though. Episodes about local restaurants and local food events (which are the majority of what you guys seem to do) will typically will get my full attention. Since I'm not much of a beer or wine drinker episodes focusing on those topics tend to get skipped by me. But that's just my personal preference. Overall, the format, quality, and presentation of the podcasts are pretty top notch.

2 & 3 - Sort of answered those above.

4 - I think I already answered this question on a different survey.

5 - I have been listening via your website (or CU) on my laptop while working on other projects. But now that I have an iPhone I've got the foodcast subscribed via itunes and sync'ed with the phone for downloading. So I anticipate listing that way to some of the upcoming episodes.

6 - I'd say my sweet spot is 20-30 minutes for a show. Any longer and I'd have to break it up into 2 listening sessions. Which means probably not finding the time to finish the second half before moving on to the next week's episode.

7 - Not at all! ;)

8 - I'd be fine with the format either way. As long as the overall show is topical, it doesn't matter to me if I'm listening to 4 10-min interviews or 1 40-minute interview, as long as it's interesting material.

9 - I love the "on location" stuff at events and things. So more of that! :D

I'm not really a foodie so I'm not likely to be a regular listener but I have liked the show the 3-4 times I've listened to it. It's well produced and it's never dull or preachy. Very good things.

I really really like the intro song. Whatever you do you should keep that.

re: question 4: That depends on how much grog the pirate monkey has had and the density of the monkey's pegleg.

Re: question 6 - Me personally I prefer more frequent half hour ish shows than less frequent hour long shows.

re: question 7 - only those who robocall my store tieing up my line.

re: question 8 - I prefer the current format.

I vote for shorter segments, on more topics. If the podcast just focuses on one thing, I make a decision whether or not to listen based on how interested I am in that one interview. If there were several topics I would probably listen to the whole thing more frequently.

Jim and I are looking into changing the format of the Foodcast a bit in the next month or so and we would love some feedback on what we are currently doing right (or wrong.) It would help us out greatly if you could answer any of the questions below, or if you could just tell us what you like or don’t like all freeform and stuff. Brutal honesty is encouraged, but I’m posting this on CU so that probably goes without saying.

Thanks so much!

1.	Do you listen to the Foodcast on a regular basis? How about just once or twice?
2.	What types of shows do you currently enjoy the most? Examples might include:
a.	Well known restaurants
b.	Obscure establishments
c.	DIY projects
d.	Nonprofit organizations and food movements
e.	Events and festivals

3.	Same question but in reverse. Which types of shows don’t you like?
4.	If train A leaves Detroit at a speed of 60 mph and train B leaves Cleveland at a speed of 72 mph and there is a prevailing north-north-westerly wind of 6 knots, how long would it take a monkey with a wooden peg leg to kick the seeds out of the dill pickle?
5.	If you download the show automatically show via a program like iTunes, how likely are you to listen to it?
6.	Would you be more interested in a half an hour show or a full hour?
7.	Do focus-group type questionnaires irritate the hell out of you?
8.	Do you like our current format of 20-40 minute interviews, or would you prefer a show with several smaller segments?
9.	Have I missed anything? What else do you like or don’t like? What aren’t we doing that you would like to see?
