I can see that for dinner. Lunch I don't see it. Gahanna has a pretty large church community not to mention Sunday mid day shopping crowd. Which is why we literally walked in and back out of 3 establishments before settling on fast food that day. Yes they were chain resteraunts, but there was nothing else open. Also, when we pulled into the lot to check the door, 1 car also pulled in, with another suv watching us just to see if they were actually open. They seemed to be in the know, but curious just incase.

I'm sure they are doing well. We used to eat at their truck almost once a week before moving out of town.

It seems like many restaurants take Monday off since Sunday is a popular day to eat out.

A lot of the outlying communities are definitely slower on Sundays and I'd say it's the same about everywhere. Closing one day gives owners and/or staff a recharge day versus opening and making minimal or no profit. Just not worth it.

Days off and "recharging" in small business? Doesn't sound very competitive.

2 times I've made the mistake of going there on a Sunday now. Which is the only day I typically dine out... and the only day they are closed :(

I can see being closed on a Sunday downtown, but in Gahanna I really think they are losing out on a lot of business.

We ventured to the Gahanna location for dinner and had excellent food. The red sangria and Peruvian ceviche were amazing. We will be going back as often as we can.

Had dinner here recently. The fish tacos are excellent and the Cuban sandwich is one of the best I've had. On an earlier visit we tried the Picada combo tapas platter (chicharron, chorizo, steak, toston and yuca) and unfortunately I really can't recommend it. Nothing wrong with it, each item was just kind of plain compared to the other menu items that have alot of diverse flavors & fresh salad-y components. Overall though this is a great addition to my 'hood & worth a trip out to Gahanna. And I agree the spicy cilantro sauce is definitely the way to go.

Code section added for sidewalk dining
By Marla K. Kuhlman
ThisWeek Community Newspapers
Wednesday April 18, 2012 2:59 PM

Gahanna residents likely will see more sidewalk dining in the future, thanks to Gahanna City Council’s April 16 approval of such a use. City engineer Karl Wetherholt said the former Maya Grill had requested the ability to have sidewalk dining on public sidewalk rights of way last year.

The restaurant at 93 N. High St. since has changed hands, but the new El Arepazo restaurant also wants sidewalk dining. Wetherholt recently told council members that Gahanna hasn’t had provisions to allow sidewalk dining on public rights of way but that Columbus has had such a code for several years.

Review: Arepazo Tapas & Wine
By: Morgan Kelley

Arepazo Tapas & Wine is the full name of the new Gahanna restaurant, and as the name implies, the menu has expanded. Where the Downtown location excels at providing a quick lunch option for office workers, the Gahanna space is more of a full service affair with a full bar, expanded selection of entrees and a tapas menu for tasting. It’s a place to sip Sangria and share a Colombian sausage plate with friends.

Ate there for lunch today. Delish. fish tacos killed it. There are a ton of things on that menu that I'm looking forward to trying. I was surprised by an emphasis on wine, i guess I wasn't expecting that. I'll have to go back some time in the evening hours to explore the booze portion of the menu.

First Look: El Arepazo Expands to Gahanna

When I heard that one of my favorite restaurants in Columbus was opening a second location I got excited. When I heard that location would be open for dinner AND have a full bar, I was over the moon. El Arepazo has long been a lunchtime favorite for me, and lots of other Columbusites. Tucked in a small space on Pearl Alley downtown, people line up out the door for delicious Latin food with a Venezuelan kick.
