I prefer reading books on the older Kindle, but at least on the Fire you can look at mags, movies, etc.</p> <p>For the price, I think it is great. I have Amazon Prime as well, but am not as impressed with their selection of "free" movies that come with it. I've never had too many issues connecting to most open wifi sources and the basic browser will let you log onto wifi sources with sign-in pages. Yes, it's a poor mans tablet but it offers a lot more than just a e-reader app.</p> <p>While I don't see myself upgrading to the Fire since my cell phone handles pretty much everthing the Fire offers but on a smaller screen of course.
