I'm taking a class on the rise and fall of the soviet union and the prof posted this for us, I just thought it looked really neat, and I enjoy the occasional wexner event, I especially find the soviet films interesting

I've been really interested in hearing what people were feeling/experiencing when the wall fell/soviet union collapsed...I was really young when it happened

thanks for sharing =)

This sounds like a great event. As a former cold warrior I think it's important that we remember what those times were like. The wall fell one week after I left active duty and I remember feeling such immense relief. We knew the Soviet bloc was falling apart and were extremely concerned that the Soviets would try to hold things together by provoking some sort of patriotic conflict. It's a testament to the peoples of the Eastern bloc that things unwound as peacefully as they did.
