I didn't notice any problems with the 48 fps rate at all... everything was more defined, with the 3D not being over the top and really adding to the experience.<br /> I encourage everyone to check it out in Imax version, just cause it really seemed to be the richer option. I really enjoyed The Hobbit. Good action sequences, some funny moments, some interesting development of the dwarves (I really liked Balin). I think Martin Freeman was spot-on, and I loved having more of Ian McKellen (Gandalf the Gray is so much more interesting than Gandalf the White). But I enjoyed it more when thinking of it as a prequel to LotR rather than just The Hobbit. Or thinking of it as The Silmarillion + The Hobbit. I wonder if it's better to think of it as Peter Jackson's The Hobbit.</p> <p>I'm really not interested in the HFR 3D. I saw it in 2D at Studio 35 and it looked and sounded gorgeous. It felt a little long to me, and I'm a little concerned about stretching it into three movies, but I really enjoyed revisiting that world again.
