Hal & Al’s is working with the Parsons Avenue Merchants Association and Merion Village Association to promote some positive things for the area as well as help them raise funds for their organizations. And how do we plan on doing it? By inviting a bunch of food trucks and carts to our street the last Sunday of each month from 12 noon to 6pm starting this April 29th!

And to kick it off, we’re giving you the opportunity to help us design our logo and 1st monthly flyer. The prize? A Yuengling Snowboard. And if it ever snows here again, maybe you can use it in Ohio!
So, here are the rules:
-design us up a logo for The Food Truck and Cart Hop facebook page and incorporate it into a flyer promoting the event for this April.
-Submit the logo and flyer in any web compatible format to foodtruckandcarthop@gmail.com.
-Since we are offering up such a great prize the winner will have to provide us with high resolution images in a couple different formats and sign away all rights to the images.
-The winner will get a brand new 155 snowboard with some great Yuengling graphics.

Depending upon how many entries we receive, we’ll post them on our page and let our fans help us choose by liking the images. Contest open until April 15th. (Just another deadline for that day) That's right- contest open until 4/15. (facebook publishes the wrong end time on the event page no matter what we put when creating and/or editing this event!)

Not interested in designing anything for us? No problem! We just hope you’ll like our page and come down to Parsons Ave, by Hal & Al’s, the last Sunday of each month and enjoy some good grub by local vendors!

The Hot Times Community Arts & Music Festival will take place on September 11, 12 & 13, 2009 at 240 Parsons Avenue (the southeast corner of Main & Parsons) located in the Historic Olde Towne East area. In 2009, the Hot Times Festival will be celebrating its 33rd Anniversary. The site for the event is the Columbus Health Department, owned by the State Of Ohio, historically known as the Ohio School for the Blind. The tree-shaded property has plenty of on- and off-street parking; it is well lit and handicap accessible.

The project draws audience members from the entire city and surrounding counties, as well as artcar artists and vendors for the street fair from many surrounding cities and states. Populations from outside the immediate community are exposed to a warm and welcoming Arts environment that has proved to be very valuable in mitigating the negative image with which the community has struggled. The people of the area look forward to the festival, where many are given the opportunity to socialize, interact and create visual, musical and community art in formats not regularly accessible. With the music, street fair and poetry slam, the event has the feel of a huge, extended family reunion.
