Columbus continues to be a challenging market for independent theaters, and the arrival of another national chain like Studio Movie Grill will certainly not help foster interesting film opportunities for local moviegoers. In addition to the Hollywood blockbusters that we all enjoy (to say that our staff is simply excited about MAN OF STEEL, for example, would be a gross understatement), I believe that it is incredibly important to our city to offer a diverse selection of films—including low-budget indies, documentaries, and locally-produced movies—in an uniquely local cinema environment. The installation is constructed with paintings and interactive sculptural drawing, which intends to bring attention to the opacity between social classes in our culture. Scrutiny of social division is encouraged as the viewer moves in and around three-dimensional drawings built out of braided mason twine and light.</p> <p>Mosholder uses a hands-on approach to examine spatial elements through site-specific visual research. Delineations is a multi-sensory, participatory experience; lines of twine extending from floor to ceiling and between walls expand and contract in a visually manipulative manner, engulfing the viewer.
