Turtle Creek Tavern, located at 5571 North Hamilton Road, is still relatively new, having been open just under a year, but it’s quickly making a name for itself as a go-to for sports-watching. Operation of the kitchen was recently turned over Nate Holmes, owner of popular food truck My Place or Yours, and since that move, folks have been packing into the Turtle for games, brews, and grub.

If you like to watch your football games with loud, crazy fans who feel it just as hard as you do, then Turtle Creek may be right up your alley. The young and young at heart are rapidly making this one of the North East side’s premier places to watch the big game, and so good is the food, it’s not going to take long for fans to come from every direction.

They’re coming for Porky’s Revenge: a layer of house-made ranch sauce, sautéed ham that’s been slow-roasted for 16 hours, crispy bacon, and mozzarella cheese, baked to crispy perfection on a thin crust, then drizzled with more of that savory ranch sauce and homemade hot sauce. It’s so good, it makes you laugh out loud on first bite.

The meats perfectly complement the slightly sweet heat of the hot sauce, which balances nicely with the creamy ranch. It’s not a typical pie by any stretch, but one that’s so undeniably delicious, it should rank among some of the best in the city.

Turtle Creek Tavern also has 18 taps and a friendly staff, so if you’re looking for new favorite place to catch the games and a great pizza, stop by. Turtle Creek Tavern opens at 11am daily.
