One of the most beloved and bemoaned Downtown events of 2011 was the Food Truck & Cart Festival. The event swarmed the Columbus Commons park with over 12,000 people, which resulted in both a large festival atmosphere, but also caused extremely long lines that left some attendees hungry.
“We are currently discussing and planning all of the details from food truck preparedness to fast access to drinks and water to having the proper partnerships,” said Timothy Wolf Starr, CEO and Founder of The Small Business Beanstalk and co-Organizer of the Food Truck & Cart Festival. “This year we are going to be including a more diverse selection of food trucks to accommodate the rapidly growing mobile food market.”
So mark your calendar and save the date. The Food Truck & Cart Festival will return to Columbus Commons on Friday July 13th, running from Noon to 10pm. Over 50 local and regional food carts will present, in addition to arts and craft vendors, live music and other entertainment. Admission is free.

It was a madhouse last year, can’t wait to go again.
“One of the most beloved and bemoaned Downtown events of 2011 was the Food Truck & Cart Festival.” I agree with this first line 100%. What I’m confused about is why only 1 day again? You’re getting more food and more entertainment, so I’m worried that there will be a repeat of last year because everyone wants to attend this 1 time of the year event.
Rumor has it that more dates will be announced.
There’s also the Food Truck Roundup in June:
