FMMF Cancels DJ Lineup in Fashion Tent

The third annual Fashion Meets Music Festival takes place this weekend in the Arena District, but several DJs will no longer be participating in this years lineup. An email was sent out last night with just a few days notice to let DJs know that they will not be included in the event this year.

“The person who booked you did not have the full knowledge of our tech that will be offered at this festival,” explained FMMF Music & Social Media Coordinator Emily Bowman in the email. “We were under the impression that you would be bringing equipment, but now we are hearing from DJ teams days before the event, we cannot accommodate your tech needs nor have the funds to cover them. I am not aware of what your original agreements were when first addressed to play this festival, but seeing as we are three days out we are sad to say that we cannot have any DJs in the Fashion Tent this year.”

The cancelled DJ lineup includes Mister Shifter, The Fallen, Ghost Gardens, Alina D and Ginsu & Carma. If there’s any consolation for the performers affected by this cancellation, it’s that they’re not out any money since they weren’t going to be paid to begin with.

“We appreciate you wanting to play, especially for free,” continued Bowman via email. “I would still love to have your full teams at the festival and will gladly offer all of you VIP 2 -Day Tickets.”

The festival’s 2016 musical lineup includes Passion Pit, Matt & Kim, Adventure Club, DJ Khaled, New Politics, Bebe Rexha, Børns, French Montana and more.
