First Look: Rockmill Tavern in The Brewery District
The first of two new ventures from Rockmill Brewery is nearly complete. The Rockmill Tavern in the Brewery District has begun hosting “friends and family” previews in anticipation of their upcoming grand opening. Co-owner Matthew Barbee said that a few of the final pieces are still falling into place over the next week, but expects to soon be able to announce when the new restaurant will be open to the public.
The second new venture is the Pub & Beer Garden concept that Rockmill is working to open in collaboration with Juergens Bakery in German Village. Barbee stated that the series of community approval process on that project is moving forward, with more details coming soon.
In the meantime, private party guests were able to sample some of the food from Rockmill Tavern last night, crafted by Executive Chef Andrew Smith, formerly of The Rossi and Salt & Pine. Stay tuned for an official grand opening date in the near future.
