Columbus fans of Cleveland-based Platform beer can now get their fix in their own backyard. The company officially opens its new Downtown distribution facility and brewpub at to the public tomorrow, bringing over two dozen varieties of Platform’s beers to local customers.
Co-founder Justin Carson told Columbus Underground that on-site brewing operations will be up and running within the next several weeks, and will focus on experimental small batches of beer, while the draft selection will feature beers shipped down from their much larger 120,000 square foot facility in Cleveland.
Like many other new local brewpubs, Platform’s new facility at 408 North Sixth Street features an open-air industrial warehouse aesthetic, communal seating that encourages making new friends, and a wall full of garage doors that will open up to an outdoor patio once warm weather returns next Spring.
The Grand Opening of the Platform Beer Columbus Brewpub & Brewery takes place on Wednesday, December 28th from 3pm to Midnight.
