I heard the fire trucks this morning but didn’t think anything about it. Looks like those pastel-colored buildings across from the Grandview post office are on fire. I was at Grandview Cafe last night and drove by them thinking to myself how nice they looked and wondered how Grandview Yard would affect them even though they reside in Columbus city limits. This certainly won’t help matters.

i saw flames shooting from the roof tops, the flames were so intense that the buildings had to have been gutted by the fire. its a shame as that could have some real adverse effects on grandview ave for some time to come.
According to NBC4, the affect businesses include: Accent On Nature, Candle Lab, Grandview Avenue Physical Therapy, Harris Opticians and Eyes On You.

I just got back with photos and vid, links soon.
Please don’t drive to Grandview to watch the fire. The roads are jammed, and probably blocked, so you will not get near. If you have to see, park a good distance and walk (remember to dress for the cold).
And anyway, the fire is almost out. Stay inside and look at the photo sure to be posted here!
I’m getting photos from Jessica Carle at the Cheesecake Boutique. She said their business is totally gone. She’s going to send over some video soon too.
Also, Adam & Jen with ILoveTreeFort has offices right across the street. I heard that Jen is in the office today and is ok. She may have some updates soon.
well my heart goes out to those who lost everything in the fire. what a terrible thing.
Here is a quick link to the raw files.

A few minutes ago on the phone Jessica mentioned that they were calling in fire trucks from all over the city because they were having so much trouble with the water freezing.
What a heartbreaking thing to see. :(
well figures with the cold temps… having no water really steps up the panic mode!
looking at jens pic that hose could extend as far north as 5th ave. what a nightmare.
Oh, man this is horrible!
It is really sad,
With this cold spell, people use space heaters and other means to heat their homes which increase the likelihood of fires. It was good to see the COTA buses there to keep the firemen and women warm after they run their shifts.
How horrible. It’s good that there do not appear to be any injuries. What a loss. My glasses were from Harris.
First Clintonville, now Grandview. Why couldn’t it have been Easton and Polaris?
What else can be said… what a shame. Hope everyone affected can get back on their feet quickly.
