    Best Bites: Sweet Treats Returns on February 9th to Celebrate Desserts

    Columbus Underground’s popular Best Bites: Sweet Treats will return for a second year on Tuesday, February 9th, to help local dessert fans taste their way through the city’s best desserts while celebrating Mardi Gras and supporting a great cause – the Gifts of Kindness Fund! Tickets to the event are now on sale!

    After last year’s inaugural event sold out in ten days, Best Bites: Sweet Treats will return in 2016 with 28 dessert options from a wide variety of local restaurants, bakers, catering companies, wholesalers, food trucks and pop-up shops. This year’s event will take place at the Columbus Athenaeum, located at 32 North Fourth Street, giving us the room to make it better than ever!

    Participating treat makers include Three Kids and a Kitchen, MMELO, J-Pops Gourmet Ice Pops, Graeter’s Ice Cream, Lyric Donuts, Katy’s Kandies, 1803 Bacon, Red Velvet Cafe, The Table, Mika’s Cupcakes & Creams, Pattycake Bakery, Rime Time Pops, Copious, Velvet Ice Cream, Kroger Bakery, Sugardaddy’s Sumptuous Sweeties, Cherbourg Bakery, Eban’s Bakehouse, Schmidt’s, Gallerie Bar & Bistro, Four and Twenty Blackbird Bakeshop, Cakes and More, The Angry Baker, Eagle Family Candy, Laughlin’s Bakery, Cameron Mitchell RestaurantsCapital City Cakes and Sunday’s Cakery.

    Additionally, Arnett Howard will be performing live creole/funk music to get attendees in a festive Mardi Gras mood, and both Stauf’s Coffee Roasters and Thunderkiss Coffee will provide free samples of their delicious coffees.

    Advance tickets to the event are $30, which includes unlimited sweet treat samples and a cash bar featuring Crafthouse Cocktails as well as beer and wine options. Tickets are expected to sell out. As always, attendees will also be able to cast their vote for their favorite dessert of the night, and the winner will be recognized on Columbus Underground as the Best Sweet Treat of 2016!

    A portion of the proceeds from all ticket sales will be donated to the The Columbus Foundation’s Gifts of Kindness Fund, a community-focused fund that helps Central Ohio families with emergency needs. The Columbus Underground Best Bites event series have collectively raised over $7,500 for local charities since August 2014.
