Eight Story Hotel Proposed for Bridge Park in Dublin

Crawford Hoying will take plans for an eight-story, 150-room hotel and adjacent convention center to the Dublin City Council tonight for an informal review. The two buildings would sit at the corner of Riverside Drive and State Route 161 and serve as gateway buildings marking the southern edge of the massive Bridge Park development.

Although site plans for the overall development have long shown a hotel and convention center on that parcel, the presentation to council marks the unveiling of the design and the operator – AC Hotel by Marriott, which the chain calls its “European inspired design hotel.”

An eight-story, 149-room AC Hotel has been proposed for Park Street near the North Market in Columbus. Both proposals are in the early stages of the review processes in their respective cities.

Crawford Hoying principal Bob Hoying said the hotel is a key piece of the Bridge Park master plan.

“The hotel will bring a 24/7 element to the neighborhood, complementing the restaurants, bars, and entertainment destinations in Historic Dublin as well as Bridge Park itself,” he said.

The hotel proposal follows the approval this summer of phase one of the Bridge Park development, which will include eight five-to-six story buildings featuring a mix of apartments, office space, parking, and restaurant space. Crawford Hoying will be working with the Shaner Hotel Group on the project, and is reportedly targeting a 2017 opening.
