ECDI Finds a New Home that Includes Food Incubator Space
By Melanie McIntyre on September 6, 2010 at 11:30 amThe Economic and Community Development Institute in Columbus is scheduled to move into new offices Oct. 1. ECDI will trade its current offices at 475 E. Mound St. for a renovated two-story schoolhouse at 1655 Old Leonard Ave.
“Besides the fact that it is a great building with a lot of character, it is going to allow us to actually do things that we’ve been talking about for a long time,” says Amy Szabo, director of development at ECDI. “The food cart commissary and commercial bakery space will be a safe and affordable place out of which local food carts, bakers, and catering businesses can do business. It’s kind of like a co-working space for food entrepreneurs!”

awesome! i have always hoped we would get a food incubator!!
Nice addition for North Central (also home to the Idea Foundry). It’s getting to be slightly less of a no man’s land.
I love it. This is exactly what we need. Hoping to start my own food biz one day. Good to know this will be around. :)
I’m really looking forward to them getting this space opened up. Maybe we can schedule a CU/Metropreneur open house tour. ;)
