Bob Kramer, former Supervisor of Food Safety for Columbus Public Health Department, has joined Economic and Community Development Institute (ECDI) as Director of Food Services and Food Safety.

Kramer brings over 32 years of dedicated service to the City of Columbus, serving as Supervisor of the Food Safety program for 12 years. As Director of Food Services and Food Safety at ECDI, he will lead programming related to the incubation of food-based businesses. This will include development of food safety curriculum and of a licensed food cart commissary and commercial kitchen in conjunction with ECDI’s Growing Entrepreneurs Initiative.

“The addition of Bob Kramer to ECDI’s staff will enable us to take our Growing Entrepreneurs Program to the next level. Bob has unparalleled experience in the food safety industry and will represent an incredible resource for our clients,” said ECDI President and General Counsel Steve Fireman.

ECDI is the only Small Business Administration (SBA) intermediary microlender in central Ohio, as well as a microlender for Franklin County and the City of Columbus. The organization has focused on helping entrepreneurs start or expand businesses since 2004.

  • This is great news for ECDI. I am a huge fan of Bob Kramer and all the great work that ECDI does. Bob has always been a great friend to the restaurant industry in his role with Columbus Public Health. Best wishes to Bob and ECDI, what a great team!

  • Thanks, Liz! We’re super excited to have him on board as well. By the way, I read about Eartha Ltd in Business First a few weeks ago and can’t wait to see that develop.
