Downtown Shop Profile: Take Ten Body Therapy

Life can be very stressful at times. Many people hold stress in their neck, shoulders and back. Are you one of those people? Take Ten Body Therapy can help relieve some of that stress for you and help you be on your way to a healthier life. Ten minutes at a time. Owner Kimberly Jones has been working in therapeutic massage therapy and sports massage in the downtown market for nearly ten years. In the beginning, she spent some time on the second floor of the 5 E. Long building with Body Mechanix, a mobile massage business. Then she took Take Ten Body Therapy out to the Pearl Market for five years. She has been in her new space at 116 North High Street since September 2008. The space is in a good location and Kimberly is excited to be a part of the growth of downtown.

Take Ten Body Therapy offers low cost massage to fit into your budget and lunch breaks. Although you can get longer massages done there, and even hot stone massages, the shorter massages are ideal for people who work downtown and only have an hour or so for their lunch. Help for you to get rid of that migraine! There are chairs in the front for you to wait in or have a quick massage done. Or you can opt to lie down on a table. Massage pricing starts at $10 for 10 minutes. They are running a special deal for August and September where you can get unlimited one hour massages for $45 each.

Kimberly hopes that the retail incentives the City of Columbus is offering will bring more businesses into the area to complement her business. In her space, she has an extra room that she is using as an incubator to help other massage therapists start their businesses. She loves this business because she loves working for herself and also having the chance to help people feel good about themselves.

If you go: Take Ten Body Therapy is located at 116 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43215. Hours are Monday through Friday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 3pm. Phone: 614-222-1044.
