After three and a half years in business, the Dirty Frank’s West on West Broad Street is closing its doors. The business closed abruptly last Thursday for maintenance, and is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, but will be closing for good at 11 p.m. on Saturday, November 4.

“Being closed the past few days has allowed us to review and assess our operations and facilities,” stated owner Nick Ailabouni with a post earlier today on Facebook. “Our old building is showing its age and we have been operating on borrowed time. The deferred maintenance can rear its ugly head at any time, as we found out this past week. Aside from the costly issue that occurred on Thursday, there are many other building needs.”

Ailabouni has been the sole owner of both Dirty Frank’s locations since 2016, which was originally launched Downtown in a partnership with Elizabeth Lessner in 2009 at 248 S. Fourth St. The second location in the Westgate neighborhood was opened in February 2014 at 2836 W. Broad St.

“This isn’t goodbye, rather more like hitting the reset button,” said Ailabouni. “We have been working for some time on launching a mobile unit and catering operations. These plans are in the works and we’ll let you know when we’re ready to go. We’re looking forward to a Westside return in the future and will remain a strong advocate for this amazing community, as our fans have been proud advocates for us for almost four years.”

Ailabouni encourages anyone who wants to visit one last time to stop in over the course of the next two weeks, and to feel free to continue to visit the original Downtown location.
