Loved hearing about the Pearl and Lynn alley ideas.
And the “long term, secure commuter bike parking” made me all warm and fuzzy. :)
Really like the “small project” logic. And interesting points about being here for the rising versus moving to a place that has peaked. Good to hear optimism amidst all the bad news we have been bombarded with lately.
Yeah, Cleve is a very upfront guy with his opinions, and it’s nice to hear him being bluntly honest with the problems we’re currently challenged with Downtown, as well as his ideas and plans to help fix them.
funny photo, looks like someone is soliciting him on the statehouse lawn.
Is there anywhere I can read more about the “long term, secure commuter bike parkingâ€Â, It was not mentioned in the related Dispatch article.
Excellent Podcast! (even with the annoying phone ringing, I guess it is better than the espresso machine in the other episodes). Keep up the great work Walker.
I don’t know if there is any public info out on those long term plans mentioned. Probably not completely fleshed out yet, I’d imagine.
Yeah, the phone ringing was a little annoying, and pretty much impossible for me to cut out, but I guess it shows that Cleve is a busy guy! :D
My best guess would be either bike lockers, a storage room or a corral of some sort accessed only by certain individuals. With the various bits of technology that allow key card access to garages, doors and other secure areas, it wouldn’t be too hard to set up a bike cage with the same type of access. Just apply with building security to get access.
I believe that some of those longer term solutions may be what is included in the newly announced federal stimulus spending on energy efficiency.
