Creekside Gahanna Dedication Weekend Set for May 1-4
A new heart for Olde Gahanna will officially start beating at the beginning of May when Creekside Gahanna celebrates its grand opening with a weekend of activities for all ages. The mixed-use community, which represents one of the most significant developments in Gahanna’s more than 150-year history, features 100,000 square feet of office and retail space, along with 140,000 square feet of residential loft condos amid public plazas adjacent to the scenic Big Walnut Creek.
A four-day grand opening weekend will feature a public dedication Saturday, May 3 at 11:30 a.m. All community members are encouraged to attend.
Multiple public events are scheduled for the evenings of Thursday May 1 and Friday May 2, and throughout Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4. Numerous activities for families, adults, teenagers and children will be held during the four days, such as musical performances, paddle boat rides, garden tours and face painting. For a complete schedule of events, visit CreeksideGahanna.com.
“The revitalization of Olde Gahanna is a success that all our citizens can point to with great pride because it represents an investment in our future,” Mayor Stinchcomb said. “Creekside has attracted new retailers, restaurants and businesses to our city, as well as bringing new residents who appreciate the comfortable sophistication of urban living in a natural setting. We expect Creekside and the surrounding area to be a destination where Gahanna residents and visitors will spend an extended period of time enjoying the multi-faceted experience we have to offer them.”
A number of restaurants and retailers opened their doors as other parts of the project were being completed. Specifically, Bread Basket Family Bakery, Buck Mulligan’s Irish Pub, Cold Stone Creamery, Koulian Jewelers, Mezzo Italian Kitchen and Wine, Seekers Coffee House & Café Gahanna, and The Shoppes of Portobello Row are all now open to the public. Candle Lab, Golden Nails and Salon, and The Wine Guy Wine Shop, Wine Bar and Bistro are expected to open soon.

Maybe I’m missing it, but I HATE condo websites that don’t state their prices on the page.
I agree 100% I always hate that too. This development looks cool, I need to go check it out. One thing i could have done without though is another “Irish Pub”.
Prices are there under “Floor Plans”
How dumb of me. I did not realize the actual floor plans were after the plans of the floors, if that makes sense. Seems to be a little pricey in my opinion. The ammenities inside each condo are not all that grand, and I don’t even know where this is. If this was in the short north, or IV, or any urban area, I could see those prices, but Gahanna? I honestly do not think I have been to Gahanna before or even really know where it is. I know it is somewhere around Easton, further up Morse I think.
Ok, it took me 20 min. to figure out that bottom scroll bar moved. Yeah, I’m not paying that much to get in in the beginning phase….BUT I will say this could turn out great for this city. This gives suburbanites an option to live in a more dense situation thus giving light rail (in the future) a good reason for being approved. This is around where Net Jets will be building and the airport is really close too. Gotta dream big!
Take 670 E to where it splits at 270, but instead of getting off continue onto Rt 62. After a few lights this will take you straight into downtown/old gahanna. It’s actually a fairly nice little downtown area, and the Creekside development is along Mill St (next to the Creek). Lots of things within walking distance and plenty of little festivals and events along the Creek throughout the year.

The rest of Gahanna though quickly turns into sprawl.
I applaud Gahanna for taking on this initiative. I think it is great that they are working toward a higher density communtity instead of continuing a sprawl trend. If communities around Columbus created more dense population center, rail would make more sense.
Ok, fairly close to where I imagined it being. Still just a little to far for me to venture too, but if I lived and or worked in Gahanna, I would definitely be more excited over this because it does look really really cool, especially how they incorporated all of the water features. Maybe I will head out this weekend to check it out. This would have been great on the CCF site. I think that would be big enough.
I agree. If they put this anywhere downtown it would def. revitalize that section. I have this vision of someone putting something like this accross the river from North Bank and connecting the Arena District to it using a large footbridge.
I have been there 3 time to eat at Mezzo, pretty darn good italian with reasonable prices. The whole complex is nice, but, I wouldn’t say that it fits in well with its surroundings. It is pretty much a big block of cement, brick and glass put on the side of a very scenic river in the middle of nice smaller mostly wood shops and restaurants. Nice, but, it seems out of place and does nothing to enhance the charm of the area.
I’ve heard good things about the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival
Thats really the only option. Gahanna is landlocked on all sides so if they don’t grow with higher density they aren’t going to grow at all.
Here’s to Gahanna doing it right while my piece of the earth – Upper Arlington – continues to vote and argue itself further into a hole. The tide does seem to be turning though and I’m glad to be a part of that.
