I was out in Gahanna a few weekends ago, and couldn’t help but notice the major progress to the giant Creekside development going on out there. It looks pretty impressive, and I think it’s been going a bit under the radar around here and RetroMetro too since it’s located a good ways out in the burbs.
Regardless, it’s a very dense mixed-use project that’s being built directly adjaced to “Old Gahanna“, which was already a pretty decent pedestrian-friendly downtown community.
Anyone got any insight to share on this project? Below are some of the renderings from the official website for the project.

Wow, looks really nice. My question is about the pricing. How much will the 815sqf 1bd go for? Since it is out in the suburbs, I think anything over 100,000 is a little too much. Have prices been released yet? I think condos around Easton could demand a higher price only because Easton is already a vibrant area, that has almost anything you could want.
There are prices on the site, but are pretty hard to read.
Click on any of the floorplans on this page for info & pricing:

They sound pretty expensive, but do have a lot of amenities as well.

I wonder what the condo fees are? I couldn’t find that info on their site…
Looks nice, but $239K for 815 sq. ft. in Gahanna?! Seems like you could quite easily buy a 2000 sq. ft. house in Gahanna for that.
Those prices are ridiculous for Gahanna. If that was in the Short North or downtown, then I would think those prices were fair. Just Compare them to the Jackson on High, where would you rather be? With those prices, this project just went down the tubes for me. I am not going to pay 300psf to live in Gahanna, when I can get more square footage at the Jackson, and live on High Street. Absurd.
I guess it could make sense for someone who works at Chase or Limited Brands or somewhere else around there and doesn’t want to commute from downtown but still wants the high-density urban feel.
Still, for myself, if I did work out there and want to live close to work, I have to admit that I’d be much more likely to just buy a house for that money and have more space.
But they must assume there’s a market for it…
For suburbanites who don’t want to make the plunge into an urban area this would be good. Even though I wouldn’t live there, I’m hoping more and more developments like this will come up. Might make for a nice visit by riding the light rail system out there. That’d be a while, but if there’s more stuff like this it’ll make it a lot easier for it to go forward.

i’m really impressed with this development even though its in the burbs. at least in’s downtown, walkable and dense and not in the middle of a cornfield. groveport has something like this on the table, although not as big. all outer burbs should be considering projects like this for those who don’t want to live downtown, but want something semi-urban and walkable. it’s a good direction, never thought i would give praise to a burb.
This is exactly the type of development that needs to replace the concept of a suburban “park-n-ride”. If there were a light rail shuttle from this suburban-yet-dense project to downtown, it would be mutually beneficial for residents of both areas.
Unfortunately, there’s no existing railroad tracks around this development, so it would probably be a bit more expensive to build.

The man-made lagoon looks awesome! I was out there a few weeks ago and took some pics. Mezzo is going to overlook this lagoon and the development looks great! Whenever Iranians do real estate, they do it big!
