If the closing of the Brownstone wasn’t enough to put a dent in upscale urban nightlife, now the famous COVE Lounge will shut it’s doors for good. After going strong for over 4 years and hosting some of the biggest events and celebrities to ever hit the city, the COVE lounge will be closing it’s doors to the public but for what reason? This announcement comes as a shock to thousands of Columbus residents who frequent the chill lounge every weekend to enjoy some good music and some nice drinks.

Anyone know what happened? The place has always had a good crowd when I’ve visited.

I do. They aren’t closed for good. I spoke to Bobby Ferguson this morning. After some updates to the space, they’ll be back with a new concept that pushes the envelope. Stay tuned.

seems like bobby is trying to have it on lock. doesn’t he own after5 and sobe too?

he USED to own After 5. I think he started out trying to make a white Cove, but the Cove crowd followed so he was splitting his own crowd, so he sold it to Michael Wiley and some other investors. Don’t know about Sobe.

It was called Lotus while Bobby owned it. Michael renamed it After 5.

I was looking up concerts on ticketmaster and it said that the Cove was renamed “Icon”. I tried to find a website but nothing came up. Does anyone know anything about the new place?
