With Sprout Soup changing their business model, their retail space at 3286 North High Street will become available. It won’t be empty for long.

John and Sue Konieczko will be expanding Cottage Street, their furniture and home goods store, taking over half of the former Sprout Soup space.

“We’re excited,” says John Konieczko. “We are going to start having some larger pieces like beds, and adding more hutches.”

You can also expect to find more smaller home décor items such as bread boxes, canisters, and tea towels.

The expansion will increase the store’s footprint from 1,000-square-feet to 1,800-square-feet.

“We’ll be adding a lot of the same products, but also more new ones,” says Konieczko. “Some items are selling so quick, we don’t have a chance to get the bigger pieces in the store.”

Since its opening in June of 2011, the mix of shabby chic and farmhouse decor with signature warm and inviting style has gotten quite a following. Fans follow the store on Facebook and will request items as soon as they are posted to the site. Some things sell the day they are brought into the store.

Cottage Street Furnishings will close for remodeling July 29, 30, and 31st. They will reopen the first weekend of August with a Grand Opening Celebration.
