COTA for Dummies

So I’m a believer that an urban area can only as good as its mass transit system. Throw me into a city with a solid transit system, and I’ll know my way around in less than a minute.
I’ll admit to being one of Columbus’ biggest fanboys, but I can’t make the claim that we’re one of those cities.
BUT…being a problem solver rather than a whiner, here’s what I’ll do for you. I’m going to break COTA down into its simplest pieces, and hopefully de-mystify the whole bus riding experience.

I only knew about the #2 bus, and there’s one that goes to/through german village?? I’ll have to start hopping on that one.
Yeah, although not a bus rider, there are definitely stops all over the village…like every 25 feet it seems.
You could also use the #8 to get from campus to GV. It goes from High and 11th on down to GV on 3rd.

I actually overheard a couple of people talking about our transportation system in Columbus at a Cup O’ Joe and we had an impromptu discussion about it. Turns out they’re experts and were just talking with the mayor’s assistant for over an hour. When I mentioned how I’d seen other cities have circular routes he said they were just talking about that and really thinks the city should look into it, including the suburbs. As usual though, the leadership is stuck in the Columbus mindset where this city exists in a vacuum and there is nothing for us to learn from other cities.
