Cookie Cravings now offering crepes.
The bakery in Italian Village you have come to love for cookies is giving you another reason to love them all over again. Monday, Cookie Cravings Bakery started selling savory and sweet crepes.
“After making it through our first 6 months, we realized that we wanted to offer more to our customers,” says Lindsey Tewanger. “We often hear our neighbors wish there was more places to get food east of High Street, so we decided to fill that niche.”
Co-owner and head baker Matt Tewanger developed all of the recipes. He will be updating the menu as new ingredients come into season, possibly as often as every day. The website will be kept up to date with the offerings. The team plans to source ingredients from farmers markets.
Current crepes include the following three savory flavors for $7 each: Black Forest Ham, Gruyere Cheese and a Fried Egg; Braised Country Ribs, Sweet Corn and Scallions; Wild Mushrooms, Seasonal Vegetables & Goat Cheese with a Red Pepper Vinaigrette, and these sweet flavors for $5 each: Lemon Blueberry; Brown Sugar Cinnamon with Bourbon Caramel; Nutella with Bananas or Strawberries.

Cookie Cravings also began selling a new line of undecorated cookies that will be changing seasonally. Currently, the flavors are Milk Chocolate Pretzel, Blueberry Goat Cheese, and Pistachio, White Chocolate and Sea Salt.
“They have been going over very well in the shop,” says Tewanger.

When the weather is nice, Cookie Cravings has limited seating available in front of their shop. But their crepes are very portable. If you’d like to call ahead, they are now offering delivery of any of their products.
“Our delivery service is Monday-Friday from 11am-2pm. We will be delivering to the whole Short North Area, including the Italian Village, Harrison West, and the Victorian Village as well as downtown. We will be delivering crepes, cookies, and any of our drinks. Customers can place their order by calling the bakery.”
The bakery brews Thunderkiss Coffee, which is roasted in Clintonville. They have French Press Coffee available for $2 or Iced Coffee for $3.

I keep seeing their sign when I drive up N. 4th, and I just noticed the addition of crepes. Thanks for the write-up and pictures, Anne! I’ll have to stop by soon.
I stopped there today to pick up a savory crepe for lunch. I had the Black Forest ham and it was delicious! While there, one of their cookies–the milk chocolate pretzel–caught my eye, so I had to take it back to the library as well. Good stuff–I’ll definitely be back.
I’ll definitely have to make it a point to try the crepes, and the cookies look good too. I was a little disappointed when I picked up one of the cookies at a Cup o Joe, they have tons of ingredients and artificial ones too, not to call them out but why so many ingredients just to make a cookie? I can get a Keebler elf cookie and I expect tons of artificial stuff but not from something local.
We are so lucky to be a part of such a supportive community. Thank you to Anne and CU for helping spread the word about the new crepes. The turnout has been great this week and we look forward to meeting more people from the neighborhood!
In regards to efilsitra’s concerns about our ingredients, our decorated cookies that we provide to Cup O Joe have 8 ingredients at the most. Our label looks like a lot more, though, as the FDA requires that we list all of the ingredients in each component. All purpose flour, for example has 7 ingredients. Admittedly, we do use artificial coloring on the decorated line to achieve the colorful designs. For anyone worried about food dyes, we have many other options in addition to the decorated cookies. We hope you can stop by soon!
Just wanted to update that the delivery fee is $2. Also, their new website is up!
