This month is a very special edition of Construction Roundup. Because not only can you browse our photos for a virtual update on development projects in Columbus, but you can also join us next Sunday for an update on many of the nearly-completed or recently completed projects that are ready for touring! Our Urban Living Tour includes stops at The Julian, Grant Park, Highpoint on Columbus Commons, The Keystone at Grandview Yard, Flats on Vine, Flats II, The Heights at Worthington Place (virtual showroom), The Dennison (formerly Leafydale), The Normandy, Yankee Lofts, The Atrium Lofts, One Ninety Nine, 8 on the Square and many other amenity stops along the way!

You can purchase your tickets to the tour in advance online via eventbrite for $15, or day-of at Cup O Joe in the Short North for $20. Tour stops will include refreshments and attendees are eligible to enter to win a grand prize giveaway worth over $1000. Hope to see you next Sunday at the Urban Living Tour!

Below are descriptions of the various projects photographed this month with links to more information:

  • The Joseph - An 11-story hotel and six-story office building located in the Short North.
  • The Fireproof - A five-story 47-unit mixed-use apartment building at High & 2nd in the Short North.
  • The Julian - A residential redevelopment of a former warehouse at Front & Main, Downtown.
  • Battery B - A 56-unit apartment development at 6th and 2nd in Italian Village.
  • Jeffrey Park – The first apartment building in a larger 41-acre 1,350-unit residential project.
  • 250 High – An 11-story mixed-use apartment/office/retail tower at High & Rich, Downtown.
  • 109 North Front – A City of Columbus office building is being demolished and replaced.
  • The View on Fifth - A six-story 285-unit mixed-use development at Fifth & Holly in 5xNW.
  • Grandview Yard Apartments – An additional set of 120 apartment units in three four-story buildings.
  • Grandview Yard Retail – A 92,000 square foot Giant Eagle on Third Avenue with surrounding retail.
  • OSU North Campus Redevelopment – An $400 million project that includes 11 new buildings.
  • The View on High - A five-story 64-unit mixed-use development at High & 18th near OSU.
  • Grant Commons - A block of 24 rowhouse buildings being rehabbed by Wagenbrenner.
  • Weinland Park Infill – Wagenbrenner is working on redeveloping the former Coated Fabrics site

    Is a part II coming with some more of the non-residential updates? e.g. Mound St. connector, the old Hall of Justice facelift, Deaf School, Art Museum?

      No part 2 this month as I didn’t have enough time. Busy weekend combined with big upcoming event combined with upcoming summer vacation. ;)

    Excellent! I was going to take a bike ride around town and snap some photos tonight of the stuff nearby so will post anything I capture in the appropriate boards.

    Really excited for this weekend too btw, shaping up to be quite a tour!

    I think something similar to The Normandy should have been constructed on The Commons. Would have looked a lot nicer than Highpoint. Can’t wait to see all these projects completed though. Thanks for the update!
