    Construction Roundup: Franklinton

    While the Franklinton Floodwall was officially completed back in 2004, making the area safer from flooding concerns and re-open to new development, it’s taken another 13 years for the floodwave of development to actually begin. Nearly a dozen larger-scale new-build projects have been proposed, or are in the planning stages for the area, and construction officially got under way in 2017 in a big way.

    Now that those dominos have begun to fall, locals can expect to watch the neighborhood change rapidly in the next several years.

    Work has begun on the five-story mixed-use River & Rich apartment development on Rich Street.

    Land has been cleared at the 45-unit “Out of Town” residential project on Town Street.
